So, we have entered the final quarter of the year. Time flies, and I've just realized that I have spent one third of the year working. But my wonderful extended internship came to an end on 30 September and I have since moved back to Ipoh to complete my FYP and wait to become jobless await graduation.
Anyway, before I left PJ, I met up with two online gaming friends and had lunch at My Elephant, Section 17 PJ.
I suggested a few nearby places for makan and they chose the Thai restaurant. It was until we finished placing the orders from the very disappointingly limited lunch menu that I remembered they just came back from Bangkok. LOL! How clever of me to even suggest Thai food. :D
The (above picture, clockwise from top left) stir-fried vegetables, green curry chicken, some sourish glass noodles and seafood tom yam were so-so only, compared to my previous dinner experience, but the company was great. We had so much to talk even though it was my first time meeting them.
On October 1, I piled my car with all my belongings and drove back to Ipoh with YY tailing my car all the way. Her bf, his sister and a friend tagged along for a makan trip to Ipoh.
As we had a late heavy breakfast at Departure Lounge, Damansara Uptown, we only had tea at Sin Yoon Loong coffeeshop in Ipoh old town to save space for dinner.
Dinner was tanghoon crab. I didn't bring out my camera because I thought it was a bit of a hassle to take care of it while dirty my hands eating crabs. Moreover, I've posted about it, so if you wanna have a look at what we ate, you could always refer to here or here. :D
No prizes for guessing correctly that breakfast on Sunday was dim sum, so I was lazy to snap photos because I've posted about Ipoh dim sum long ago (here) and it's kinda boring to snap the same thing over and over again. :P
Things - my personal matter, in fact - got a bit haywire after that but I won't go into it. And by nightfall, I was alreadyhijacking YN's room at Seri Kembangan, putting up a night at the twin's room to await my journey the next morning.
So on Monday morning, I boarded the Nice executive coach and arrived in Kuantan at 2pm.
Comfortable bus with excellent service - they even had aair land steward on board to serve you! The bread, served during lunch time, was warm and soft. The ticket was a bit expensive but it was worth paying for the comfort ride.
And why was I in Kuantan? My dad had to be there for work purposes and I thought I'd drop by to visit.
It was a pity that he was busy with work and couldn't find time to take me around.
But I really enjoyed waking up to the cool sea breeze and sounds of the waves lapping the shores every morning. So peaceful and serene.
I think it's quite cool to live in a one-room apartment with sea view. Awesomeness. It'd be perfect for single working adults, like me in the near future... apart from its price. =X
The skies weren't always so beautiful there. It's usually hazy or gray, so it was quite hard to differentiate the skies and the sea, but I was lucky to catch a few glimpses of the sky in its good mood and whipped my camera out to take a few shots.
One thing about Kuantan though - the food sucks. Okay, "sucks" is a bit heavy but it can't beat Ipoh in terms of variety, quality and most importantly, price. Food in Kuantan is so freaking expensive!! Almost of KL standard, I would say.

And on the day before I had to come back to Ipoh, my dad took me to Telok Chempedak early in the morning before he had to rush to work. The beach was surprisingly clean. Wish I had more time to spend there. I really really really love the beach!
Well, never mind, there will be a next time. But before that, I should settle my FYP. That'd clear lots of hurdles in front of me. Hehe.

I live in PJ but never been to My Elephant restaurant before! So it's not that nice? OK will skip it then haha. Ooh! I like Departure Lounge though it's quite pricey.
