1) One of my bosses was in Japan and brought back some souvenirs and we got a green tea Kit Kat each. Cool!
2) I've always liked anything 姜葱 (ginger & onion) - chicken, fish, etc and there's a shop near my place selling pretty good 姜葱鱼片河 (kuey teow with fish fillet in ginger & onion sauce).
3) My colleagues brought me to Sunway Giza for lunch the other day. Didn't quite know what to have for lunch (as Sunway Giza wasn't our main destination) and ended up at a place called My Cookbook.
Pretty decent interior.
Cute decor. Haha

They had chilled lemongrass juice. The ice bars were actually made of the juice itself so that it won't dilute the drink when it melts. How thoughtful.

My sour plum juice.

Appetizers - black eyed pea cake which tasted quite okay to me but my colleagues didn't like it.

My colleague's chicken broth which came with her set of chicken rice.

One thing I noticed about this restaurant was its presentation of food, which was pretty stylish. The food was generally good albeit a little pricey and I must thank my colleague for the treat.
4) As mentioned, our main intention of going all the way to Sunway Giza was not for lunch but more for the following thing which I had wanted to try for such a long time but haven't had the chance to, and my colleagues, appalled at the fact that I have yet to taste it, immediately agreed to let me have a try at it.
And what could it be?
Beeping UFO. Beep Ring any bells?
Yeah, Snowflake's Bestseller dessert with extra TaroBalls! Again, treat from colleague - thank you very much! And I enjoyed every bit of it... love it so so much, especially the TaroBalls! :D
5) Went out for dinner at Lorong Seratus Tahun at SS2 with Justin yesterday. I always have this problem with wanting to order so much food but can't finish them in the end. Took me a lot of energy to refrain myself from ordering almost everything from the menu. HAHA.
(clockwise from top left) Sago in gula melaka, fried tang hoon, deep-fried special tofu, otak-otak, chee cheong fun and chendol.
The Penang food affair was surprisingly good for a shop which boasts of its Penang cuisine, the otak-otak especially. You know lah, food from stalls outside Penang bearing the same name normally don't taste as good as it is supposed to be and this Lorong Seratus Tahun had me looking at them differently, although the chendol still lacks the kick it should have.
6) As though we weren't full enough from the Penang food feast, we went all the way to Kota Damansara for dessert. The street was crowded but we were so damn lucky to get a parking space and hence we dined in.
HAHAHA YES! Snowflake again. Justin, YN and I were supposed to get this the last time we had dinner at Marutama Ramen but the kiosk at Pavillion was sold out. And after the treat from my colleague, I know I should get Justin to try it. Too bad YN wasn't here. But it's okay, because it means that there will be a next time! *evil laughter*
Since I've tried the cold one, I thought I'd try the hot version of their Bestseller and boy, didn't I regret it!! The hot version had peanuts (which the cold version lacks) and somehow the peanut-y taste didn't blend well into the grass jelly and made my stomach a lil uncomfortable. Nope, nothing's wrong with the dessert; it's me who couldn't get used to the taste. I'll just stick to the cold one from now on. Haha.

The internship is still progressing on well and the things to learn are still rolling in - more new exposure and experience! I got roped into handling a new project for a new client as boss wanted to let me have a hand at managing a project right from scratch. Things will indeed get busier in the coming weeks as there are many events and projects waiting to be launched and wrapped up before the fasting month starts.
I suddenly wish that the internship wouldn't end so soon coz I'm lovin' every bit of it.

Wow! I have never tasted green tea kit kat before! Was it nice?
Ooh! I love that the ice bars were made from the juice itself and not just water! Those kopitiams should follow this! LOL!
I love Snowflakes!! But never tried the hot one before, always the cold ones - cos I normally go there looking for cold dessert when the weather's hot! : )
foongpc: Green tea Kit Kat is nice (flavour wise) but a bit too sweet for my liking.
It was night time so I thought I'd try their hot dessert but too bad, wrong choice. Haha.
