Charlotte lent me this book a few months ago but I hadn't really had time to sit down and finish it, despite sobbing while reading the first few chapters.
Since it's semester break now and I've got nothing on yesterday, I went to the Starbucks outlet at Jaya One, ordered a hot Cappuccino and sat there for four hours to finish up this book in the air-conditioned environment filled with coffee aroma.
It was an enjoyable read, despite the (kind of) emo me was near to tears at certain points of the story. I just can't control myself; I wonder if people saw me. Not that it matters anyway.
Basically, PS, I Love You is a story about a woman named Holly who lost her husband, Gerry and found it hard to get on with life. But two months after her husband's demise she received notes from him, one per month, leading and guiding her on with life without him, each signing off with "PS, I Love You". It was very touching. Unlike those normal live-happily-ever-after fantasy stories, it was kind of realistic as it described how Holly struggled to live life without Gerry - her emotional turmoil and how her friends and family helped her through it.
Have to thank Charlotte for lending me this good read. Would suggest it to you too, if ever you're interested in this genre of books.
I recently got to know that I seem to be a person who appreciates a lot of time to myself despite hating being alone. Funny huh?
